The RT Booklovers Convention is in Dallas!

Are you attending RT Booklovers Convention in Dallas this May? I’m hosting a panel called Pitch Perfect on Friday, May 15 from 11:15am to 12:15pm. We have two wonderful industry professionals, myself, and an established author helping you get pitch ready. For more information about the panel, go here.
We want your pitches and first pages! Submit your queries, twitter pitches, loglines, and first pages in the form at the end of this post by April 30, 2015 for a chance (we’ll critique as many as we can) to have it critiqued during the event. If you aren’t attending the convention or if you don’t plan on attending Pitch Perfect, do not submit your material. We’ll call your name during the panel and if you’re not there, we’ll move onto the next submission.

Louise Fury, Agent
The Bent Agency
Louise represents young adult, middle grade, new adult, commercial fiction including romance, and select nonfiction. A native South African, Louise now lives in New York City and travel to Cape Town every year, where she spends time educating South African writers, meeting with international publishers and distributing books. Before agenting, she worked in marketing and advertising for both the consumer markets and publishing. Prior to joining The Bent Agency, she worked as a literary agent at the L. Perkins Agency. She represents numerous New York Times and USA Today best-selling authors. She encourages my authors to have one foot in traditional print publishing and the other in the digital-first arena and is a huge advocate of utilizing secondary rights—she has sold film/TV, audio and foreign rights for her clients. She believes in staying ahead of the pack by embracing change, not just adapting to it.
Liz Pelletier, Chief Executive Officer

Liz is first and foremost an entrepreneur. Casey Crow, Author

Casey Crow is an award-winning author of “Sexy, Sassy & Southern” contemporary romances. As Casey Layne, she writes young adult and the BACK ALLEY PUPSTERS children’s picture book series. Casey is a a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Alabama with a BS in Business Management and Minor in Dance. She received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Mobile. Outside of writing, she is a nationally sought after pageant coach.

And me, Brenda Drake, Author
Brenda is the author of TOUCHING FATE (Entangled Teen Crave, Fall 2015) and LIBRARY JUMPERS (Entangled Teen, January 2016). She grew up the youngest of three children, an Air Force brat, and the continual new kid at school. Her fondest memories growing up is of her eccentric, Irish grandmother’s animated tales, which gave her a strong love for storytelling. So it was only fitting that she would choose to write stories with a bend toward the fantastical. When she’s not writing or hanging out with her family, she haunts libraries, bookstores, and coffee shops, or reads someplace quiet and not at all exotic (much to her disappointment).

Rae is a YA/NA author and freelance editor who loves sci-fi/fantasy everything, food, mentoring youth, and helping the awesome people in the writing community. When she’s not doing all of that, she’s a composer, food blogger, nerd, cooking instructor, youth mentor, and school speaker.
