Enter ONE of the Rafflecopters below for the chance to have a free query or first page critique! During May, June, and July, Pitch Wars mentors will be helping you shine up your query or first page. They will be posted after being critiqued on the blog, so please–only enter if you’re willing to have everyone see it.
We have 80 query spots and 80 first page spots. Please choose only one and enter your information.
This is for all genres in the middle grade, young adult, new adult, and adult categories of fiction. Your manuscript does not have to be complete to enter. Winners will be announced April 17th and will receive an email, so be ready to submit your sample for critique immediately.
Hi Heather, does the tweet about the giveaway have any rules or formats, must use hashtags?
Just click the button and the pre-made tweet will appear. Thanks, Daniela!
Hi, I am new to this so I don’t know how to leave my first page–so sorry. I tweeted and put in the URL. Thanks for your help.
Susan–if you win, we’ll work it out. Don’t stress. We got you.
Shoot, I entered both before I realized I was supposed to enter one only but would prefer the free 500 word critique. I am unsure how to fix this other than by leaving a comment.
It’s okay, Tonya! I’ll watch out for your entries and only count one of them.
Oh crud. I entered both before seeing ‘please only enter one’. I’d be happy with either.
Making a note of it, impnotastepford. Not sure of your first name-hah! No worries.
Are picture books allowed? (The whole manuscript is in the query.)
We aren’t allowed to do picture books because when the whole MS is published on the blog, it’s published. That doesn’t go over well with agents and publishers. I’m sorry, Jacquelyn!
Hi Heather, I am new to tweeting as well. I tweeted but I don’t know if I put in the URL correctly on the entry page for the query critique.
No worries! Thank you for entering the workshops!
Thank you for the opportunity! I entered and tweeted. 🙂
I can’t figure out how to leave my 500 words. Sorry
Oh crud! I accidentally did both. I definitely want the query critique, thanks!
Oops, I entered both, sorry! I hope it won’t be too much trouble to fix it.
Thanks for the opportunity! When is the deadline to send the first 500 words?
Thanks to everyone for this opportunity, can’t wait for the feedback. 🙂
Its a great competition, with some very worthy competitors, anyone who wins should deb justifiably proud. Fingers crossed thats me 🙂
So excited for this opportunity! When/where will be critiques be done?
The critiques will be posted on the blog, May-July. They’re chosen to match with mentors as much as possible and there’s no way to notify everyone of when they are scheduled. So follow the blog and yours will come up one of these days . . . Thank you for participating!
It is amazing to me that you facilitate this. I hope you do not ever underestimate the gratitude of all of us that are chosen. I am looking forward to my mentors feedback. Thank you!
Hi Heather, I am just checking to see if you sent out an email to me. I’ve been reading the critiques and have been impressed so I’m excited to get my shot with a mentor.
Thanks!

I see that I won a query critique but haven’t received an email. Any help, please?
I promise I’ll get there! You should be hearing from me within a week or two.
@heathercashman – Great, thank you! I was worried I missed my opportunity. 🙂
