Auction Item 23: Custom Author/Book Swag Pack by J.C. Davis

Tuesday, 14 July 2015  |  Posted by Brenda Drake

A hand of a young woman gives a heart as a Valentine's Day gift before a red background.

About this item:

Always wanted swag inspired by your book, a friend’s book or one of your favorite reads? Here’s your chance! If you are the winner of this auction you will get to pick your swag and have a say in the final look. What does that mean? Well it means something completely and utterly personal to you. I can make jewelry, artwork, embroidery, paper cuttings, pins, single-color screen printed t-shirts, temporary tattoos, bookmarks, etc inspired by your chosen book. I can make pretty much anything (but I don’t knit or crochet).

For example, for Brenda Drake’s fabulous Thief of Lies, I created 10 pins (two different designs), 10 temporary tattoos (two different designs), and a book necklace.

I’m not listing a set number of items to be offered because the package is completely custom. A single charm bracelet, for example can be as time consuming and expensive as 50 buttons. But we’ll work together to make something special that fits your needs. You’re welcome to do whatever you like with the swag I create: give it away as a book promo or horde it for yourself.

Fine print: this offer is good for one year, so if you don’t have book art available yet, no big deal.

As a child, J.C. Davis spent her days inventing secret worlds and finding forgotten places. Busy reading her way through the local library, she never imagined writing books of her own until one day, all grown up, she fell in love with a children’s book and decided to rediscover a few of those secret worlds she’d invented. Ms. Davis’s first book is locked in a drawer guarded by attack trolls. Her second, however, will be published summer 2016 by Flux. A programmer by day, Ms. Davis lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband, two kids and a pair of hedgehogs with nerdy names. Ms. Davis is an amateur photographer, runs a Harry Potter meet-up group, and is an unrepentant book addict. Ms. Davis is represented by Mandy Hubbard of the D4EO Literary Agency.
