I’m so excited to offer up a signed copy of THE STARS FELL SIDEWAYS by Cassandra Marshall. If you like Atlantis, Steampunk, and Indiana Jones, this book is for you. All you have to do to enter is answer this question in the comments of this post: Who would you want to be stranded on an island with? That’s it! Easy, right?

Here’s something about THE STARS FELL SIDEWAYS …

Alison Arroway takes a lickin’ and keeps on tickin’. She has to, or she won’t get paid. Alison is a stunt double for pampered teen actress Pomegranate and when the director takes the shoot to Portugal, Alison is anything but thrilled to be rooming with Pom. But getting to hang around teen hearthrob Erik? Now that’s a plus.

Erik invites both girls on a sunset boat trip and Alison manages to have a decent time. Until the storm hits and the boat is shipwrecked on a small island, leaving Erik missing and the boat captain dead.

In the morning light, Alison and Pom find themselves on the lost island of Atlantis. Only one problem: now that the girls know the secret of the island, the Atlanteans don’t want them to leave. They’re stuck with corsets, full-skirted dresses, and the strange steam-driven contraptions that are just a way of life for the islanders.

When a plot by the ruthless army Captain to take over the island and declare himself General over all emerges, an underground group promises to return the girls to the mainland if they can help stop him. They’ll go through a mountain, literally, to find the Book of Blue, a book that will explain how to make ‘the stars fall sideways’ in order to save the day and earn their freedom.

THE STARS FELL SIDEWAYS, a YA Steampunkish fantasy, out now from MolliePup Press!

You can read an excerpt of the book here.

This sounds like a fascinating book. I love the premise. Steampunk plus Atlantis must = a good time 🙂

If I was stranded on an island I’d probably want to be with Bear Grylls (hope I spelled it right) because he’d know what to do to survive!

  • Angela Brown says:

YA steampunk! Yeah, now that is something I can certainly get into.

First, I would hope not to get stranded on an island because I would hate to be a burden on the poor sap that would get stuck with me. But if it had to be anyone, it would be author Maria Zannini. Not only does she write steamy sci-fi romance, but she does homesteading so I could follow her orders on what to do so we could survive. Although, any killing of animals for eating would have to be done by her lol!

  • This sounds really cool! I’ll take anything with steampunk 🙂

As for the island….This might be weird but probably my dad. He spent his childhood wishing he was a Native American from the old frontier days, and his life’s wish is to retire on a farm. He’s spent years researching how to survive in the wild, so I think he could probably keep me alive 🙂

  • meradeth says:

This looks like so much fun! All my favorite things in one book 🙂 If I were to be stuck on a desert island with someone, could I just say lots of books? Unless I could be stuck with McGuiver or something who could help us get home 🙂

  • Molly Lee says:

Very interesting concept! Thanks for the giveaway! If I was stuck on an island I’d want to be wit aquaman or superman because one of them would be able to get me home! lol. And If we’re talking real people then my husband, because he is trained in survival tactics and has the ability to make me laugh daily and put up with me! 🙂

  • Don’t know which tease I like more, Indiana Jones or Steampunk.

Ooh, and I would like to be stuck on an island with my brother. (He is one of those survivalist types.)

  • OOOO I WANT TO READ THIS SO BAD

Who would you want to be stranded on an island with? My husband. He’s super smart, knows how to fight, and I won’t be lonely. He’s my soul mate. <3

  • This book sounds amazing! Congrats Cassandra! I’d also pick my hubby. He’s got good instincts and I trust him. Of course Bear Grylis wouldn’t be too bad either…I bet I could trust that guy…

  • PragmaticMom says:

I’d love to win! I’d love to be stranded with my husband and kids. It’s ok to add kids, right?

  • Rebecca T. says:

This book sounds really fun and interesting!

I think I would want to be stranded with my sister.

  • Kristen Jett says:

I’d want to be stranded with Joe Hardy.

We’re going to pretend he and all other hunky literary characters are real, okay?

  • Laurie Litwin says:

Probably my three year old son. Yes, I pick him over a hunky actor 🙂 He’s a lot of fun, and the light of my life.

  • Laura Tims says:

    Sounds awesome!

I’m gonna be uncreative and go with the hunky actor. Robert Downey Jr, anyone?

  • I’d like to be stranded with someone rich and their private jet. I dislike the heat and having no electricity, so me and a deserted island would be a recipe for disaster!

  • meradeth says:

Wohoo! Thanks so much, this totally has made my day!
