Teen Eyes Editorial
I have the results from  Brent Taylor with TEEN EYES EDITORIAL. I’m amazed at all the awesome entries here on my blog and on Authoress and Kate’s blogs. You all are very talented and I’m sure this was a tough decision for all the editors. Make sure to check out Teen Eyes services. They aren’t that expensive and it’s great to get a pair of young, professional eyes on your work.
Here’s what Brent said…

35-word pitches are excellent tools for writers, not only in terms of pitching to agents and editors, but also to help hone in on the meat of a story: evolution of character and plot.
Some pitches that really hooked me were…
Name: Michelle Mason
Title: DUET WITH THE DEVIL’S VIOLIN
Genre: MG magical realism
Being whisked into the music is ok when it’s “Ride of the Valkyries,” but 13-year-old violin prodigy Miranda Harper could do without visiting “Psycho” or–even worse–being trapped forever in an alternate reality.
Name: Jeannette Smejkal
Title: WHAT SILENCE HEARD
Genre: YA thriller
First abandoned, then hunted, nine strangers have to fight together in order to survive, but that includes finding a way to protect the one among them who is there to ensure their failure.
My winner is…
Name: Dannie Morin
Title: FINE
Genre: YA Contemporary
When her rockstar father is murdered, Abbie finds herself a reluctantly emancipated minor. Alone in grief, Abbie seeks distraction in a boy her friends despise. But Abbie knows Cole is dangerous. She’s counting on it.
I think this is an excellent pitch. It told me what exactly FINE is about, but most importantly it left me with a question—why is Abby counting on it?—that I really wanted answered.
