Laura Brown
Laura Brown lives in Massachusetts with her quirky abnormal family. Her husband’s put up with her since high school, her young son keeps her on her toes, and her three cats think they deserve more scratches. Hearing loss is a big part of who she is, from her own Hard of Hearing ears, to the characters she creates.

Do you know what hearing loss sounds like? I do.
All my life I’ve tried to be like you. I’ve failed.
So I keep it hidden.
But on the day my world crashed down around me, Reed was there.
He showed me just how loud and vibrant silence can be, even when I struggled to understand.
He’s unlike anyone I’ve ever known. His soulful eyes and strong hands pulled me in before I knew what was happening.
And as I saw those hands sign, felt them sparking on me, I knew: imperfect could be perfect.
Reed makes me feel things I’ve never felt. It’s exciting . . . and terrifying.
Because he sees me like no one else has, and I’m afraid of what he’ll find if he looks too closely.
The only thing that scares me more than being with him? Letting him go.

I am a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing. I would love to share a book like this with some of my older students and the deaf parents. Story line sounds really interesting too!

LOVE this.
would love to read this!
I am hearing and I have a deaf character, so I’ve been devouring all your blog posts and videos. I will definitely be reading this book…to read it for free would be awesome!
This would be an asset to our library.
Love the blurb. Definitely pulls you in and tugs at the heart strings–even before opening to the first page.
My father-in-law recently and unexpectedly suffered total hearing loss so this hits home for me in many ways. Congratulations on you book!
This looks AMAZING, Laura. I need to read this!
Adding to my TBR list!
Yay! I would love this one! My parents’ neighbor is deaf and my mom and sister learned ASL so that they could say more than just *wave* at the bus stop.
Ooohsounds interesting! I lost all hearing in my right ear after an operation in Jan this year. Going for possible!e bone anchored hearing aid next month. Its a very odd experience & has taught me how much we take hearing for granted!
This book is on my TBR 🙂
Thanks you for the amazing opportunity!
I can’t wait to read this!!
My son has a profound hearing loss, so I am going to connect here.
