PW Interviews

Our mentors are editing, our mentees are revising, and we hope you’re making progress on your own manuscript! While we’re all working toward the Agent Showcase on November 3rd-9th, we hope you’ll take a moment during your writing breaks and get to know our 2016 Pitch Wars Teams.

And now, we have #TeamSheerMagic . . .

Megan: Why did you choose Summer?

I chose to submit to Summer for many of reasons. First off, she writes YA fantasy, and her wish list included lots of goodies that fit my manuscript to a T. Also, she described herself as being relentless, which I think it a key quality in any successful creative-type. Oh, and I liked her sense of humor! People who are relentless and funny are super hard to beat!

Summer: Why did you choose Megan?

I chose Megan because her book haunted me. It was as though the world of her book took up residence inside me. Each gorgeous, vibrant word left a mark on my soul. I HAD to choose her. Her book wouldn’t leave me alone! I can’t wait to see how it develops. Not only is Megan’s book stunning, Megan herself is gracious, humble, eager, and thoughtful. I am thrilled to work with her!

Megan: Summarize your book in three words.

Tattoos. Magic. Kissing!

Summer: Summarize Megan’s book in three words.

Magical Woodland Adventure!

Megan: Tell us about yourself. What makes you and your MS unique?

I’m a married, stay-at-home mom to two little girls, and I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, though I only became serious about writing a novel and pursuing publication a few years ago. Every idea I get is spritzed with magic, so fantasy is my thing. I love lush books with literary slants and hooky voices, and I’ve made my best attempt to write one of my own. My Pitch Wars manuscript is about a girl with ever-changing tattoos who must travel through an enchanted forest to save her town from a force that’s reversed the clocks. The story is packed with symbolism (some of it hidden like buried treasure!), a healthy dose of banter, magic, and adventure. And let’s not forget the kissing… 😉

Summer: Tell us about yourself. Something we might not know.

Hmmm…. what can I tell you all that’s appropriate? 😉 I’ve never broken a bone! But I am the queen of stitches and butterfly bandages. When I was little, I thought I was Cheetara from ThunderCats, and I would try to run really fast down the hall and beat the front door before it closed… one time I didn’t make it and ran straight through the glass door! Lots of stitches! So far, my kids are following in my footsteps… no casts, but lots of cuts!

Thank you for supporting our Pitch Wars Teams! And don’t forget to stop by the Agent Showcase starting November 3rd to see how our teams do in the final round.
